When you look up at the stars, do you feel a pulling or tenseness in the front of your neck?
Open your jaw, does that help you look up farther?
You may have a tight platysma.
The platysma is a big, flat muscle that covers the entire anterior (front) surface of your neck, extending from your lower lip and stretching over your collar bone. It helps you pout, and do other things with your bottom lip, and it's susceptible to tension just like all the other muscles in your body.
Check out the video tutorial above to learn how to release it yourself!
